Turbotec's New Enviro-Pak provides free hot water to restaurants
Windsor, CT April 2007-Restaurant owners can now get free hot water by capturing the otherwise wasted heat currently piped away from their refrigeration or central air conditioning system. The Enviro-pak, manufactured by Turbotec Products, Inc. is a compact heat exchanger designed to be used with light commercial AC systems in the 1.5 to 5 ton range, or with refrigeration systems in the 1.5 to 5 ton range.
The compact and highly efficient heat recovery system uses excess refrigerant energy to reduce water heating equipment load and provide free domestic hot water for cooking and cleaning. Since the system can be connected to either the central air-conditioning sysytem or the refrigeration sysytem, Enviro-Pak is ideally suitedfor restaurant, catering, and institutional food-preparation service applications, and allows these business to reduce their "carbon footprint".
The Enviro-Pak system is compatible with all commonly used refrigerants including R-22 and the new ozone friendly HFC-R410a air-conditioning refrigerants, and R-134a for refrigeration sysytems, making it extremely environmentally friendly. Additionally, when connected to a resturant refrigeration system, payback is estimated to be just one to two years for restaurants in Boston, New York, Washington DC, Los Angeles, Dallas and Miami.
Immediately available, The Enviro-Pak is quiet, comes with either a white powder coat or stainless steel jacket, features indicator lights for operational safety diagnostics. An optional isolation valve kit is available for water and refrigerant connections. The unit can be easily installed by a licensed HVAC contractor and comes with a five year limited warranty.
Turbotec, a world leader in enhanced heat transfer technology, manufactures a diverse range of high performance heat exchangers and flexible connector products for virtually any space conditioning or refrigeration applications in the automotive, biomedical, plumbing, water heating or aerospace markets. Add on plumbing device gives homeowners free hot water
Windsor, CT., April 2007-Homeowners with central air conditioning systems can now get free hot water by capturing otherwise wasted heat currently piped into their air conditioning system's compressor. The Enviro-Pak, manufactured byTurbotec Products, Inc., is a compact heat exchanger designed to be used with residential or light commercial air conditioning systems in the 1.5 50 5 ton range.
The highly efficient heat recovery sysytem uses the excess refrigerant energy from the return line to the compressor unit to heat a home's domestic hot water supply. This can significantly reduce the amount of energy required to make hot water for washing dishes, cleaning or bathing.
"Enviro-Pak heats hot water by capturing the wasted heat from a central air conditioning system," said Floyd Lewis, director of sales and marketing for Turbotec. "Depending on your location and amount of time the central AC sysytem is used, the Enviro-Pak unit will pay for itself (including the cost of the installation) in a very short period of time."
As an example, a Florida family of four with an electric hot water heater, using about 150 gallons of hot water per day can save $62/month or more than $700/year. A family of two adults living in Arizona with the same electric hot water heater using 100 gallons of hot water per day will save $51/month or more than $600/year with the Enviro-Pak system.
Both scenarios will contribute to a reuction in greenhouse gas emissions. In addition, the Enviro-Pak prolongs the life of the AC compressor. Because the Enviro-Pak reduces the incoming temperature of the return gas, the compressor motor does not get as hot or have to work as hard, which can add years of life to the air conditioning system.
Enviro-Pak is compatible with all commonly used refrigerants including R-22 and the new ozone friendly HFC-410a refrigerants, making it extremely environmentally friendly.
Immediately available, the Enviro-Pak is quiet, comes with eithera white powder coat or stainless steel jacket, and features indicator lights for operational and safety diagnostics. An optional isolation valve kit is available for water and refrigerant connections. The unit comes with five-year limited warranty.
